Find your feel. Keep it in good shape.
Material changes how a bag looks, bends and feels in your routine. Start with the actual material named in the product details, then consider how you like to pack and care for your things.
Canvas: texture and a casual outline.
Canvas brings a visible woven texture that works naturally with relaxed clothing. Waxed canvas has a surface treatment and can develop changes in appearance as it folds and is handled. Neither the word canvas nor a waxed finish alone makes a bag suitable for soaking or prolonged rain.
Brush away loose dust with a soft brush or cloth. For waxed canvas, avoid hot water, solvents and strong detergents that may affect the surface finish. Do not add a treatment unless it is appropriate for the specific material.
Nylon, polyester and Oxford cloth.
These fabric names describe different aspects of construction. Nylon and polyester name fibers; Oxford describes a woven fabric and does not by itself specify a fiber. We preserve that distinction in our listings. Fabric bags can offer flexible shapes and useful compartments, but structure and lining vary from bag to bag.
Empty every pocket, shake out loose debris and gently wipe marks with a soft cloth. If using a slightly damp cloth, try it on an inconspicuous area first and let the bag dry naturally.
Genuine leather.
Leather gives a bag a distinctive surface and can show natural variation in texture. Keep it away from prolonged dampness, direct heat and strong cleaners. Wipe with a soft cloth and allow moisture to dry at room temperature. Use only care products appropriate for the stated leather, after checking a hidden area.
PU leather-look material.
PU offers a leather-look surface without being genuine leather. A leather conditioner is not automatically suitable for it. Use a soft cloth, avoid abrasive scrubbing and do not leave it against a heater or in direct sun for long periods.
Small habits that help.
- Do not force a zipper shut around an overfilled compartment.
- Keep wet or leaking items inside a separate suitable pouch.
- Empty the bag and let it air out before storage.
- Store it dry, with straps relaxed and the shape supported without stretching.
- Avoid machine washing and tumble drying unless explicit care instructions permit them.
Water resistance, capacity and weight are only claimed where the listing supports them. No fabric or surface should be treated as a guarantee that every closure or seam keeps out water.
